ABOUT
I Have Pop is an ongoing investigation into the dynamics and mechanics of popular culture through a series of autonomous (street) art projects and assignments.

The ideas for this project first began to materialize in mid 2003 and the first preparations for the project started in early 2004. Starting in mid June and over the course of 4 months, and in the middle of the craze, the concrete dunks were placed in front of some of the world's most high profile sneaker boutiques. Without telling anyone about this project some of the shops took this shoes inside and put them on display. Word of mouth travelled quickly, but nobody knew what the deal was. One year later, the entire story was made public and sparked a huge response.

Although many people believe there is a group of people behind these projects, but that is not the case. It is the work of one single person going by the name of JUSE who is responsible for putting this together. He creates the ideas, the plans, makes the objects and personally travels to all destinations for execution and documentation. In the course of these projects his frequent flyer status went from nothing to gold and his bankaccount the other way around.

Street art is more than a sticker or poster on an abandoned building or in a back alley. Street art is a form of mass communication in which the artist can confront the unsuspecting audience with his/her message. The interaction of the piece with the surroundings is necessary to tell the story and raise questions. And with any type of art, it's that story and those questions or the interpretation of it that makes or breaks it.
